Fyrish Monument

Stone monument in Easter Ross in the Highlands, representing the Gates of Negapatam, India. Built during the Clearances in the late 18th century, Sir Hector Munro ordered this to be built as a way to employ the locals who were being cleared off their lands and had no other means for survival.
